streets and suburban storefronts

fear is not the fact that life is torn into pieces, irregular and crooked fragments
twisted and warped clippings

no, this is not what scares you in the evening when the sun goes down

the anxiety the tremor comes when between one piece and the other
you no longer see the binding glue, the tightrope
that is the reason for the restlessness feeling that takes us far away a bit 'at a time
that takes us toward that dreadful silence
full of anger
a silence that wounds the heart
by these boundaries of the world and of the human being

so you better scream
you better shout out loud
your fear
maybe is not late
maybe this wind although fake
this wind under air conditioning skies may save us yet
and brighten the horizon,
and we will see that tightrope stretched between doubt and certainty
the tightrope stretched over the eternal mystery
and perhaps we will remain like so for a moment in peace
yet
in peace out there
watching the world going by
in  the traffic and the confusion
between a ceremony and a representation
we will remain like so fascinated and happy
with a smile stamped on our face
because at the end what really matters is the belief, the conviction
that tightrope
and so be it
by these gray streets and suburban storefronts
