under this gray suburban sky,
bones that creak, screech and stretch
while the alarm rings
the throat that hurts
or rather it is a discomfort in the pit of your stomach that you cannot explain
and then nausea, you do not know
is it for hunger or satiety
the eyes burning,
tears down
tears you try to connect to any whatever desire to cry
about something you don’t remember anymore
your hands before leaving
they check a thousand times in your pockets
keys, remote control, wallet, shopping
note, key for the mailbox ....
although the only things arriving are bills
and advertising,
communications from the bank
condominium notices
and discounts for the end of any season
always alike always the same
a little drier
a little colder,
humid
gray
or bright,
windy
wind full of pollen and gas exhaust
odors of organic waste from bins at the
edge of the street
and so on under this gray suburban sky
so come what may!
you say
then you recall about that guy who yesterday at the gas station pointed out
those wild roses blooming on the other side of the road
between cracks and concrete
he told you that he would go to prune them to reinforce them so that other
flowering branches would grow
and then you raise your head
grab your keys
and go out
no other reasons
but to see if that guy to prune those wild roses, really has
gone
for today more than enough
