 ero dietro a un camion all'ingresso del tunnel
alla radio, dopo l'intervista all'autore,
stavano annunciando la lettura di una delle sue poesie

non adesso!
    ho pensato e sperando di passare il tunnel in tempo per poter ascoltare
ma il camion stava andando troppo lento e all'uscita
il poema era già finito

allora mi sono arrabbiato, ma ero anche affamato
     e poi ho notato che il camion trasportava frutta e verdura
e così mi sono calmato
poiché in questi sobborghi del mondo dimenticati la cosa più importante è
 avere frutta e verdura fresca in tempo sugli scaffali del mercato
 -.................................

I was driving behind a truck at the tunnel entrance
on the radio, after the interview with the author,
they were announcing the reading of one of his poems

not now!
   I thought and hoped to pass the tunnel in time to listen
but the truck was going too slow and the exit
the poem was already gone

at the time I got angry, but I was also hungry
    and then I noticed that the truck was carrying fruit and vegetables
and so I calmed down
since in these forgotten suburbs of the world the most important is
to have fresh fruit and vegetables in time on the market shelves
