to the eyes of those who are free 
free from the constraints 
and who know how to search within 
deep in the heart 
at the root of their joys and their fears 
and at the same time are able to see in the distance 
through the fog of indifference 
  in the midst of the rain and the wind of humiliation
and over the violent storm of arrogance 
over the crossing to the possible and the uncertain 
and far away 
far in the pathway 
among spikes and the thorns 
 essential is the truth that saves us and sets us free 
now and forever
