under these suburban skies
we allow ourselves the luxury of walking along the avenue
and breathe the fresh and crisp morning breeze
squeaky and slippery shoes on the polished and wet porphyry
listening to the words but not understanding the meaning of the speech
and the smelling of coffee swinging by the chairs and the tables placed under the arcades
fast-paced waiters, cups and saucers slamming
dew drops falling from the petals of flowers on windowsills already dressed of spring
it is only morning it is only the first breath of the day
but before evening comes
this instant will seem endless
and in our hearts we will feel we have lived a lifetime
so let's give thanks
here, now
and come what may
