towers fortresses in plastic and steel
prisons for bodies and souls
and once a year

tears of rain and gusts of wind 
deviations U turns
ban on driving, emergency lanes 
subways stations gas exhaust,  puddles
dirty mud and coffee bar on the street corners of the world
vegetables market  flowers and cement products in discount
seasonal sales ...........
seasons

seasons
their cycle
the meaning of life
without discounts or promotions
the sense of time passing by
this is what we should teach to the little ones
to those that weren't born on clods of ground
to those who have seen first thing only asphalt and concrete

the cycle of the seasons
and then getting hands dirty
contemplating the mud
and then trying to sow
and meanwhile all the rest that goes
 is only background noise
all the rest is little or nothing
and perhaps even less

because the only thing that matters
the greatest discovery and revolution under this sky 
under this pale suburban sun, 
right now as thousands of years ago
is the cycle of the seasons
sowing and then curing and then little harvest comes
the meaning of life
down here under by these gray suburban skies
and come what may
