discrimination is like being born again every morning, every single day of your life with the rising Sun

 and every single day of your life having to explain who you are

what do we talk about when we talk about discrimination

discrimination is feeling your skin burning, burning like a scar, a scar

is having to explain who you are every day,

every day having to explain why you're there

what do we talk about when we talk about discrimination

discrimination is looking up to the sky to look away,

 look at a distant point and breath, breath deeply so not be rude, not seem intrusive

is to raise your eyes up to heaven, raise your eyes to heaven and never look down! Never look down ever again!

because the sky is free above us, the sky above us is clear and free

what do we talk about when we talk about discrimination

discrimination is walking down the street with other people's eyes glued on you,

eyes and faces serious and hard,

 and in their presence having to smile, smile!

what do we talk about when we talk about discrimination

is asking yourself, "maybe this is the wrong place, maybe I'm in the wrong place!"

is hearing somebody say to your son, to your daughter:

"I'm sorry you can not attend, do not be offended do not be offended, it's not your fault, not your fault, these are the rules, these are the rules"

rules that one day your kids and my kids will study in the history books,

that day has not come yet, still discrimination walks with us through the streets of the world,

but that day will come, the day when we will change the rules with you and for you, for you too!

we talk about walking in the world, anywhere in the world proud and tall you and I, my son, my daughter

we talk about raising our eyes to heaven, looking up and never look down on the ground, ever again!

we talk about raising our eyes to heaven not to look away and no more fear, no more fear, ever again!

because the world and the clear sky are our horizon
